A little about the song:

‘Moonshine’ is a Southern Rock anthem that tells the story of a bootlegger from Eastern Kentucky driving fast, breaking the law and risking it all. Hard hitting guitar riffs and emotional vocal melodies make this song a barn burner and crowd favorite. The song is best described as a combination of Southern roots and blue collar Chicago grit. In other words, it's like bourbon and Old Style.

This single has actually been years in the making. The track was originally recorded 5 years ago during a session for Matt’s old band, The Disappointments. In that time, the band moved away from a harder punk sound to more Folk Rock. Matt Derda & the High Watts were born with the idea to include a rotating cast of musicians as the High Watts. For instance, playing bass on ‘Moonshine’ is Joey Greene from season 3 of Netflix’s Queer Eye. Matt’s long time friend and former improv comedy mentor.
